CV: Studied Computer Science at the Carl v. Ossietzky Univesity in Oldenburg, Germany. Worked as developer at a local internet company and in the German research project GERHARD2 on a semantic search engine. Started his PhD in computer science at the Web Science and Technologies Institiute at the University of Koblenz-Landau, Germany, in the area of (semi-) automatic, semantic image annotation. Responsible for architecture and coordination of integrated prototypes in EU FP6 projects aceMedia and k-Space.

CV: Studied Computer Science and Business Management at NORDAKADEMIE, University of Applied Sciences, Germany and University of Karlstad, Sweden. Worked as Consultant for Capgemini before starting to work towards his PhD at the University of Koblenz about storage and querying on the Semantic Web. Managed research teams spanning multiple European universities.

Dr. Ansgar Scherp

CV: Studied and received his PhD with distinction in Oldenburg, Germany. From 2006 to 2008 employed as EU Marie Curie Fellow at the University of California in Irvine, USA. Leads the focus group on Interactive Web with the Web Science and Technologies institute at the University of Koblenz-Landau, Germany. More than 10 years of background in media and industry projects. His scientific interests include multimedia, semantic modelling of multimedia content, event-based multimedia systems, and human-centred computing.

Responsibilities: Finance & Controlling – Marketing – Organisation

CV: Studied Business Administration with a focus on E-Business at the University of Applied Science Remagen, Germany, and at the Universitat Jaume I, Spain. Broad and profound knowledge of the ICT-markets. His diploma thesis and academic research concentrated on the development of internet-based business. During his studies he gained practical experience working as a student assistant at the management consulting Empirica (Bonn, Germany).
